If you find yourself competing in a multiple offer situation, what can you do to make your offer stand out?
As you likely already know, we’re currently in a very heated seller’s market. But, did you know that seller’s don’t always focus solely on price? There are actually a few different strategies you can employ to make yourself stand out.
Write a personal letter. Obviously, sellers have a personal connection to their home. This is the place where they’ve lived and made memories with loved ones. Sometimes, they’re looking for a person who is going to do the same thing. Showing them what their home would mean to you in the form of a letter could really boost your offer. Sellers will be happy knowing someone who cares is going to step in and take care of their home.
Consider price. While it isn’t always the most important factor, price is certainly something to consider when crafting your offer. However, remember this: Anything you ask the seller to do takes away from the price you’re offering. Asking for things like closing costs, a home warranty, or even asking them to leave a particular item in the home will all take away from the seller’s bottom line. Consider what is truly important before asking the seller anything that could hurt your offer.
